Gabby's Surprise Party

Here are some pictures that I am finally getting to. We have been trying to get into the swing of school after an awesome and tiresome weekend, so it has taken me a little longer than planned on getting these posted. Posted by Picasa

Happy Birthday Gabby (Monday, February 20, 2006)

Gabby officially turns 9 years old at 12:59 P.M. today! We had a 20-hour celebration this year starting Friday at 4:30 at a local hotel where Gabby had a surprise slumber/birthday party. They swam forever, ate some pizza then cake, swam a little more, then the girls and I headed up to the room and played Trivial Pursuit Jr. I then retired to my quarters and let the girls talk till they fell asleep (about 12:00). We then got up, ate breakfast, swam for a couple of hours, then headed home. Gabby had a great time--the only thing she told me she missed (no guilt trip), was her grandmothers. Pictures of the party will be forthcoming; the pictures posted were the ones we had done at Wal-mart yesterday after church. Posted by Picasa

Happy Valentine's Day!

The Poem

This is it! Robby wrote this while he was away in Shreveport working:

How Did I Ever Live?

How did I ever live
Before you came into my life?
My life now is so perfect
Since You became my wife.

I can’t even think;
I can’t even imagine,
How I could live again without you.

I said it then,
And I say it again now:
I have forsaken all others
Just to be yours.

I’m lonely now because
The miles separate us.
I’m weaker now, too,
Because you are not near.

Not only are you my wife,
You are my strength
And my happiness, too.

I must have been a wretch;
I must have been dead;
I could have never lived
Before you.

How did I even live
Before you came into my life?

Stay Tuned For Robby's Valentine's Poem to Rhonda

In just 7 or 8 short hours, I will open MY Valentine's card with MY poem in it. It was Robby's turn to write the poem this year. It was a little scary there-- thinking it was I that would be doing the "chore." I promise, I don't mind writing about my husband and all his good qualities and how much I love him, but to have to put it in a poem, SCARES me. In 366 short days, it will be MY turn, and I will wait until about the week before to start on it. What is scary about it? Maybe just the fact that my hubby is an English teacher, has several poems (one of them published), has written a book, and occasionally correcting my grammar. I have a lot at stake...you see, I used to be his student in college. I got the test papers, term papers, etc..., back with red markings on it--with GRADES on them. Will I get red marks still? Does he see the mistakes? Will I get a grade? Question after question after question. But in 7 or 8 more GLORIOUS hours I will see how much my love loves me, and I will be affirmed, filled with awe for him (I always do) but more so will, and I will not even think about that poem I have to write until December 26th, procrastinate and write it February 7. Stay tuned..........

Waiting for Star Wars

Caelin and Ian were waiting for Star Wars. Morgan didn't know what she was waiting for, but she had fun none-the-less! Posted by Picasa

Jums and Jums

Caelin and Ian asked for some shaving cream, and I obliged them. When I went to check on them, I quickly modified the boys, grabbed the camera and got a picture of Jums and Jums. Posted by Picasa

Our Princesses

Gabby and Morgan love their canopies their Mammaw and Pappaw bought for them at Christmas. Gabby and Morgan were having fun before bedtime. Morgan loves Gabby's bed. That is where they have princess parties and Gabby puts lipstick on her sissy. Morgan loves Gabby and the time Gabby spends with her. Posted by Picasa

The is Gabby and "Smokey." Smokey followed the kids home one day--we fed her once, and then she was ours. She is so sweet. Morgan holds her by the neck, and Smokey just dangles and puts up with it. Of course we are trying to teach Morgan kitty manners. She doesn't quite know how to hold her in her lap and Smokey tries to get away. Poor kitty. Smokey loves Gabby, but not if Gabby isn't wearing any pants. She loves to cuddle. Posted by Picasa
