Waiting...

 
The kids were waiting for Mom and Dad to get their act together for Christmas morning. They were waiting in the hallway with a chair in their way to the goodies with a note posted: "DO NOT ENTER WITHOUT MOMMY AND DADDY!" I was drying my hair and getting ready for church, and Robby was still sleeping, exhausted from his 16 hour day the day before Christmas Eve and then having to work Christmas Eve as well. I remember my dad always having to go to the bathroom before he even greeted us Christmas morning. Sometimes I think he went in there and didn't use the bathroom at all!

The kids did a great job singing "Away in a Manger" for Christmas Eve Service. I was so proud of them. Ian, on Christmas morning, didn't wait for the go ahead with the song, so he decided to start singing when he wanted as they were still getting situated. He stood still for the whole song and gave many grins. 

Who Would Have Thought?

 
This picture looks like we just have all the time in the world and just enjoying spending time with each other. We were enjoying that, but this was actually out at the mall between chaos and customers. We ran over to get a picture really quick as I happened to have brought my camera in this morning. Robby closed, but during the afternoon, we had a few hour over-lap. We had fun working together--both of us are ready to close shop at the mall. The hours are long when we have to work a full day by ourselves. This week it is going to be from 8am-10pm. That means leaving at 6:30 and getting home at 11:30. Our friends, Glen and Sue have opened their house (in Amarillo) for a few nights while they go to Taos with our church group for a ski trip. Thank you Glen and Sue!

Waiting for the snow! We were supposed to get some snow, well, just flurries, but the kids were getting inpatient. They had a good time anyway. I realized, though, that we need to invest in some gloves and maybe some snowsuits to keep warmer! 

My Little Santa

 

Ian is confused as to why he's going to be getting presents, so he is always saying when his birthday comes, he wants a light saber--a Darth Vader one. He also wants the Darth Vader mask. Does this mean anything? I would rather him want to be Luke or some "GOOD" character.

We are having fun making some graham cracker houses. I thought they turned out really nice! 

Chocolate Mice

 

The kids and I had a good time making these mice out of cherries, pretzels, hershey kisses and almond slivers. Caelin was disappointed though because we had taken them to church and they all got eaten before he got to them. 

What a Sadness and Tragedy

Thanksgiving Day

 
We had Thanksgiving at our friend's house. A lot of you have heard about the Websters, well, this is them! We had a great time. The food was awesome and so was the fellowship. Also with us were the Dixon's--also ones you've heard of!

I thought this was going to be one of those pictures that would win an award or something. We were on our way to church last week, and the sun was just hitting Gabby in the face, and she had a piece of hair dangling down (she moved it right in time, of course). Yes, I took the picture, but if you're my mom reading this, it was not me--it was, ugh....on a timer or something, yep, that's it.

Ian was so excited to get to dig into the pumpkin (like on Charlie Brown, he said), but once we got that thing open, he was scarce. He didn't want anything to do with it! 

Roasting Pumpkin Seeds

 

This reminded me of Rhea when they used to get the seeds out of the pumpkin and roast them. I had no idea that could be done (domestically). We had fun. We (I) ended up burning the pumpkin seeds. I found the recipe off the internet, and much to my surprise, there were a lot of recipes.

Here Gabby is getting a pillow ready to sew. She is pinning the lace to the fabric. We'll show a finished project after I figure out how to fix her little sewing machine.

Ian just loves "Bugart"--the name Morgan has given Caelin. Ian is "Bubba," and I guess that is how she differentiates the two. Caelin is so funny. He gets pretty frustrated with Ian (we pretty much all do) with his babbling on and not making sense. But we hear Caelin tell Ian, "IAN, YOU"RE MAKING MY MOUTH DRY, JUST HUSH!" I don't really know what that means, but I guess Caelin is feeling sorry for Ian's mouth! (You will notice when I get Ian's professional pictures figured on the blog, how he always does his mouth goofy. We had to really work with him to get him "normal."
