This is my first day at home where I don't have presents to wrap, van to unload, migraine to get over, throw-up to clean up, papers to grade, history to be read...
Nothing HAS to be done today. However, I do have 12 loads of laundry to do. That might keep me quite a bit occupied today, but I don't mind...I am kind of a sicko to my friends. I LIKE to do laundry. I like the smell of clean clothes coming out of the dryer, especially if I've used Gain detergent. I like folding the clothes, hanging clothes on hangers, putting them into neat little stacks, BUT the thing I hate is picking them up. Don't know why it is. I just don't.
Anyway, I wasn't going to go in to all that, I was going to tell you what I did today after I sorted the laundry. Aidan was in a snuggly mood, so, we got in the rocking chair, favorite blankie on shoulder, and he let me rock him and cuddle. It was so fun.
This morning I was also able to have my quiet time and read The Daily Bread
(Something my former pastor does via e-mail every day, and it is a devotional). It was so nice to get into God's word, to be convicted of things I haven't done, and things I need to do in my life to glorify God. In the devotional, it said, "You have a heavenly calling from God, and everytime you are faithful to this calling, you are partaking of Jesus Christ." WOW. You know, when I was sitting there holding my baby, I felt like I was partaking of my Saviour, Jesus. I have many callings, and one of the highest is being a mommy. A lot of times I fell at it, but today as I held him in my arms, everything seemed so right. I felt like I was being held by the Shepherd, and he was telling me to rely on Him, just like Aidan was relying on me for comfort.

Sounds like you are starting 2008 on the right foot!
I really miss getting to use Gain detergent, or any detergent that smells actually. Enjoy your good smellin' laundry, cousin!
Thanks Jen, Next time I come up, I'll bring some with me. They don't have good smelling stuff up there?
