Here are some new additions to our family.
That would include 5 ducks, 6 chickens, and
1 rabbit. With spring in the air, and all this life,
you can't help but think of Easter coming up
this Sunday and celebrating the resurrection,
and the new life God has given us through
Jesus Christ.

Thank you, Father, for life
you have given through your Son.

It Worked!

Well, it seems our hens were stressed out due to so many roosters. Two days after we moved them, we started getting eggs. Caelin was the one to find it. He came running around the corner like nobody's business! I am glad he was the one to find the egg first. He should have. He has been the one to go out and feed them every morning, even before he ate his breakfast. Now he can come in and have a fresh egg or two in the morning! Gabby would tell you otherwise that he shouldn't have found it first though. He's rough with the chickens and likes to scare them and do things that 10 year-old boys do--I don't even want to know. I saw Robby being rough with the roosters the other day and said, "Now I know where Caelin gets all his aggressiveness to the chickens." Robby replied, "I never do this to the females, only the males." Emmm, "Well, that's good, I thought," hoping Caelin was over-hearing his daddy.

Speaking of chickens, we got some baby chicks, along with some baby ducks, and a rabbit. All of them too cute. We got Aidan the rabbit, each of the other kids a duck, and Robby got me some more baby chickens.

New House for the Roosters

We are way behind in egg production here, ok, we have ZILCH! And we have been trying to figure out why. Our hens should have been laying about 4 weeks ago. We've been trying to find out what is wrong, and we found that the possibility is that we have too many roosters. There are four hens and 13 roosters! So, Robby had the idea to make a rooster house out of grid racks, and it looks great. Now, our hens may be a little less stressed, and we may be eating farm fresh eggs soon. We'll let you know! Morgan and Ian have started naming the girls. Two of the names are Lizzie (hate to say it, but one of the chickens is named after a Pride and Prejudice character), and the other is named, Eggar. I like Eggar, but I think it would be more suited for a boy, whatcha' think?

"I'm a Saints"

This is Aidan's slogan. He always pluralizes is pronouns
and sometimes his nouns. "I'm a Saints." You ask him
his favorite quarterback, and he says, "Drew Brees!"
Cher' my little Saint.

We've extended our garden this year in hopes of bringing
many meals to the table. Each Lindsay had his/her own
task. Pictured above is the favorite task of all. It sure
beats tilling and picking up rock after rock after rock after...
well, you get the picture. Later that evening we decided to
have a bon fire. As soon as we got the fire going good, I sat
sat down to watch the beautiful sight. Not the fire, my family.
Here we were all together enjoying rest after a hard day.
The kids still had their energy though; they were up walking
around the fire and feeding it and doing numerous other things.
As I sat there, looking at each one of the kids and my hubby,
I was filled with joy with these blessings God gave to me. Seems
like we get too caught up in life and miss counting our blessings. I
promised myself not to let that happen again. Enjoy each moment,
and be filled with joy with what God has given you.
